And I love it!!!
Over those years I developed a clear vision of what the retail food consumer expects, is entitled to and deserves.
Fast food, with its attendant need for excessive sugars, fats and salts, required to establish a magnetic palate, falls way short of what I consider appropriate. Of course, Slow Food has a better scope for the virtues of healthy food, value, taste and nutrition. But it requires precious time, a resource that the daily grind of earning a living denies us. Slow Food should be enjoyed when time is available to do so.
This gave me a clear objective. To deliver Value, Taste and Nutritional food, but where could I find it? Then I remembered my mum’s cooking. Of Cornish descent, mum used to make the family a treat, the Oggie, a Cornish pasty. As a kid I did not know why mum called a pasty an Oggie, I just loved them.
With its inbuilt pastry hand grip, the Oggie could be eaten without the need for the miners to wash their hands, they just held it between their thumb and fingers until only the crinkly edge was left and then, threw the hand grip pastry part away, cyanide and all. Personally, the idea of a pasty in one hand and a favourite beverage in the other is what I call ideal food.
Aussie Oggie Pastry Company started in March 2016. Since then we have gone on to win many awards for our delicious golden nuggets.
Value + Taste + Nutrition + Fast to Table = Quick Food Aussie Oggie puts the slow time in. The point of sale delivers it quickly. The consumer gets fast food time, the nutrition, the taste and the value.
